Hemingford Fireworks 2016

Saturday night was Fireworks in Hemingford! We went up to the Dolphin Hotel in Saint Ives early Saturday morning in Bandit after fitting a new little something to the galley - post to follow. We moored up and walked into town to get some brunch. We had thought that we'd get there early to secure a place but as it happens, it was us and three others boats by the time it got dark. We had expected it to be rammed packed with boats but clearly not. It was a shame really but it was good to have a clear mooring to look over to the fireworks.

The fireworks were fantastic, as they always are, and the turn up was enourmous! When the fireworks were due to start, we folded down the rear canopy and sat out in the cockpit with our warm jackets on awaiting the show to start. It was a really cold evening but we were out of the wind compared to those who drove down in cars to view the fireworks. We had the blue LED lights on in the cockpit and many people said just how fantastic the boat looked! It was lovely to speak to people who had some real interest in the boat and what we get up to with her.

The show ended and we spent the night where we were before setting off early in the morning back to our home marina so I could be at work for 10am.
