Southampton Boat Show 2016 - Pre-Show Checklist

Southampton Boat Show 2016 is coming up very soon so it's time to begin writing our list! SBS is an event that me and Dad attend every year to have a look at the huge yachts (and dream...), to find some bits and pieces for the boat that we may need/want and to pick up brochures for companies to refer back to in the future, such as lighting or chart plotters etc... The usual.

This time last year, we had no idea how different things would be 365 days later. Last year, we simply went there to view some of the boats and pick up brochures. It's fair to say we had our Fairline Mirage, Bliss, exactly how we wanted her and didn't intend to pick up anything at the boat show. This year, we've got ourselves a Sealine and we're in the middle of upgrading her to how we like our boats. We're beginning to create a list and we hope to purchase quite a bit at the boat show.

So, what's on the list? We're so incredibly close to getting engine worries dealt with and forgotten about and now it's time to concentrate on the fun bits. Dad's always had the idea in his head that he wants to modernise the galley in Bandit. In other words, the entire thing will be pulled out and we'll rebuild it using modern materials and designs. We plan for things such as a granite worktop, black smoked glass sliding cabinets, a new cooker/grill, a new hob, new sinks, new tap and new cabinet lighting. All of which we plan to purchase, or find brochures of companies that we like to look of, who sell such items at the show. We also plan to look at navigation lights, bow thrusters and remotes, engine instrumentation gauges, chart plotters, companies that do reupholstery, antifouling and outdrive paint, marine sound systems, and general pieces such as flags.

We're planning to visit Saturday 24th September as it shouldn't be as busy.
