Half a Year Later...

6 months and 18 days ago, Bandit was delivered to her new home in Saint Ives, Cambridgeshire. It's amazing how quickly time moves. I sat here at the boat today and just thought about the boat. I still can't believe that it's been so long already or that Bandit is actually ours. We were incredibly lucky to stumble upon Bandit on some weird obscure website one evening while sitting in my room.

Not only is it amazing to think how long we've had Bandit for but also to think how much we've done to her since January 13th 2016 when she arrived at her new home. The biggest things we've done since January is:
Install an Eberspacher D2 diesel heating system, rewired the 240v system and most of the 12v system, fitted new battery chargers, installed a new domestic battery, installed a large number of lights, cured some leaks from the windows/pulpit, fitted a new TV and antenna, completely rebuilt the starboard engine and most of the port engine, purchased and fitted two brand new carburetors, refurbished the heads including new sea toilet, pipes and shower/tap combo and replaced all the old curtains with new blinds.
We've not done too much to the exterior of the boat but she is without a doubt always kept clean and shiny which makes all the difference. Of corse we've added a few bits such as flags, decals and aerials but the bulk of the exterior remains the same.

We still have an ongoing jobs list that we will continue to complete but the main things that we hope to do rather soon is:
Install a 55kgf Vetus bow thruster, completely gut and rebuild the galley, fix some leaks from the outdrive hydraulics, completely solve all issues with the starboard engine, possibly look into a new canopy, have the upholstery renewed down below and in the guest cabin and have the carpet renewed down below as it's looking very old and worn.

As for our previous boat, our fantastic Fairline Mirage called Bliss, she now lives on the Norfolk Broads where her new owners are enjoying every minute they spend on board the boat. We do keep in contact with them which is great as we like to know that they are enjoying Bliss as much as we had for the six years we had her.
